The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting faculty, staff and students between all BCTC campuses and other designated locations. This position will work with the Director of Facilities Services to maintain a scheduled shuttle route in a safe and efficient manner. The driver will be responsible for performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van and maintaining a vehicle inspection form and comprehensive mileage log.
Job Duties:
Maintain all necessary licenses for the operation of the vehicle (valid Driver’s License)
Obey all traffic rules and regulations while maintaining scheduled route between designated locations in a safe and efficient manner. Use good judgement when a detour is required due to road work or closures.
Assist passengers with boarding in the safest and most courteous way possible. Make special accommodations for passengers with disabilities or special needs.
Perform comprehensive daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
Maintain all necessary documents for the operation of the vehicle, including a complete mileage log and a daily vehicle inspection form.
The driver will be responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of the vehicle, including daily cleanings of all seating and points of contact.
Report any accidents or mechanical issues with the vehicle to the Director of Facilities Services.
Maintain an intercampus mail schedule, wherein mail is transported between every BCTC campus on a bi-weekly basis.
Work to maintain correct space inventory and room information for all BCTC facilities.
Assists with the Key Distribution Program for all BCTC campuses. This duty includes, but is not limited to, processing requests, distribution, key cutting, maintenance of distribution log and comprehensive management of Keys and locks throughout the Bluegrass campuses.
