Salary Range: $20 hourly/ 39,000.00 annual

Contract Term Length: 12 Months

Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College are seeking a Cafe Manager to oversee daily food service operations, work and train students at each station, ensure high-quality customer experiences, and maintain a safe, compliant environment. This role is responsible for supervising student workers, managing inventory, and coordinating catering events to support the campus community.

Job Duties:

Proven ability to manage daily cafe operations, including opening/closing procedures
Compliance: Deep understanding of local health department regulations and safety standards.
Supervision: Experience training and managing staff (specifically student workers, as mentioned in your email).
Customer Service: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a "customer-first" mentality to resolve issues gracefully.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting to the Program Coordinator and interacting with the college community.
Flexibility to work the required schedule (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday).

Catering Coordination: Ability to plan, set up, and execute catering events.

Minimum Qualifications:

ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN CULINARY ARTS
1–2 years in a supervisory or management role. 5 years of culinary experience
Certification: Must possess a valid Serv Safe Manager Certification (or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire). 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: 5 years of experience in food service or hospitality, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Education: Associate degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management is a plus.
Certification: Must possess a valid Serv Safe Manager Certification (or be able to obtain one within 30 days of hire).

Additional Skills Requested:

This position requires the supervision of student workers.

Physical Requirements :
Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
