    Title: Director of Adult Education (Manager III – Adult Education) - GRANT FUNDED

    Salary Range: $4,616 per month

    Contract Term Length: 12 Months

    Standard Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Work Location: On-Site

    Job Summary

    The primary purpose of the full time Director of Adult Education is to provide overall leadership, management, and supervision of all programming, operations, curriculum planning, and personnel across HCC adult education sites and services. Position is grant funded.

    Job Duties:

    1. Provide administrative leadership for HCC’s adult education programming, including personnel management, budget/grant management and reporting, program delivery, and related program resources to meet program goals.
    2. Oversee the day-to-day operation of program. Manage and develop program personnel.
    3. Provide direction and oversight for program recruitment/retention efforts.
    4. Promote and market program services to the community. Serve as program liaison to promote the college’s adult education services to the community at large, and collaborate with other community partners for space, referrals, and services.
    5. Perform grant writing and budget management. Develop and maintain federal, state, and local funding streams. Research and secure additional funding sources to ensure program growth and sustainability.
    6. Adhere to and maintain established performance reporting procedures and information to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal policies and procedures.
    7. Provide instructional assistance when needed.
    8. Participate in required professional development activities.
    9. Other duties as assigned by Vice President for Academic Affairs.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Master’s Degree required. Master’s degree in related field preferred (Developmental Education, Adult Education, Higher Education Administration, English or Math).
    2. Teaching experience required (developmental or adult education preferred).
    3. Three years of administrative/management experience required. A doctorate degree can substitute for two years of the administrative/ management experience.
    4. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Previous supervisory experience is required.
    5. Proven budget preparation and management skills.
    6. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    7. Demonstrated successful experience in managing projects, problem solving, and working with diverse groups.
    8. Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners.
    9. Self-motivated and results oriented. Able to handle multiple priorities, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and identify and address problems in a proactive manner.
