Maysville Community & Technical College is currently seeking a full time, 10-month, term contract position to serve the Maysville Campus for a
CLINICAL LABORATORY INSTRUCTOR - Registered Nursing
As a Clinical/Lab Instructor and faculty member of Maysville Community and Technical College, the primary responsibility is the implementation of the academic programs in the Skills and Simulation Labs supporting the didactic teaching to allow students attainment of nursing skills.
This position will be split between the Maysville and Montgomery Campuses. Once the Montgomery Campus program begins admitting yearly, this position will be primarily for the Montgomery Campus.
Job Duties:
Nursing Instructors are assigned teaching responsibilities in a clinical or lab course. This faculty position is responsible for facilitating clinical experiences in a variety of area healthcare facilities for not more than ten students at a time. Responsibilities also include acting as a liaison between the nursing program and the healthcare facility. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic and have an in depth understanding of the principles in their discipline or field. This position is accountable to the Associate Dean of Health Sciences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Student-focused educator committed to student learning, retention, persistence, and completion.
• This job is responsible for preparing and teaching clinical nursing laboratory courses. Teaching responsibilities include collaboration with nursing course faculty in the areas of clinical simulation and campus laboratory instruction classroom.
• Participate in the development and progress of the academic programs by contributing to the development of curriculum, teaching materials, and evaluation measures.
• Participate in orientation activities and nursing faculty meetings related to the course.
• Provides remediation and evaluation of students with identified skill deficit(s)
• Assists in setting up and taking down laboratory skill demonstrations designed for student practice and testing purposes.
• Prepares orders for needed lab supplies and organizes lab supplies.
• Clinical Supervision: assist students to successfully complete any clinical practice required as a part of their course work or for graduation.
• Clinical facility participation with students and 120-hour practicum supervision
• Student Advising
• Organizing/Finalizing the clinical schedules for the nursing program student cohorts
• Lab Inventory
• Scheduling Clinicals
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience:
Two years full time or equivalent experience as a registered nurse in the hospital setting within the immediate past five years.
Education Requirements:
Associate Degree in Nursing.
Current active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Kentucky.
Preferred Qualifications:
BSN Preferred.
