Job Summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College is hiring a full-time Grants Director in our Institutional Advancement Department. This position is responsible for researching grant opportunities, writing, and securing grants to further the strategic priorities of the college. The successful candidate will oversee the management of grants, related budgets, ensure follow-up action and required reporting.
Job Duties:
• Oversee the management of selected grants and related budgets including serving as principal investigator, if necessary, and ensuring follow up action and required reporting. Manages and full oversight of grants along with financial outcomes. Provides grant administration, management, and technical assistance for Fund 12 accounts. • Compile, write, and submit grants according to grantors requirements and deadlines including all narratives, budgets, and supportive documentation. • Direct the work of the grant development team(s) to research ideas and gather background information needed to compile grants. Coordinate all activities as needed in the development of funding proposals by grant development teams. • Acquire and maintain expert knowledge and understanding of the college needs, strategic planning suitable for grant funding. Proactive research needed guidelines and priorities for grant funding organizations and networks to determine feasibility of funding for college projects and programs. • Develop and implement procedures and policies on grant development and implementation. Provide individual and group training for grant project directors. Serves as the liaison for external or internal agreements between the college and KCTCS, sponsored projects, and the district. • Perform internal service, external service, professional development, as defined in the annual performance planning process, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• BA/BS in English, journalism or related field is required. • Six (6) years’ relevant work experience in proposal/technical writing or related experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MA/MS and eight (8) years grant writing in an institution of higher education, knowledge of federal grant/contract regulations and procedures is preferred.
